Introduction
RazPay is a payment ledger. Collect, pay out and refund through your own mobile money accounts, and keep one record of every movement across your projects.
RazPay sits between your applications and your payment provider. You connect your own provider accounts, your applications call one API, and RazPay records every payment in a single ledger: money coming in, money going out, and why anything failed.
RazPay never holds your money. Customers pay straight into your provider account, and payouts and refunds leave from it. RazPay sends the instructions and keeps the record.
What you can do
Collect payments
Ask a customer to approve a payment on their phone.
Send payouts
Pay people from your disbursement account: commissions, salaries, suppliers.
Refund payments
Return all or part of a payment to the person who paid.
Recurring payments
Charge a customer again without a prompt, once they pre-approve it.
Invoices
Send a bill the customer pays later from any channel.
Check wallets and balances
Confirm a number before money moves, and read your account balances.
How it fits together
- Organisation: your business on RazPay. We set it up when we onboard you, and your admins invite the rest of the team and connect your provider accounts.
- Project: one product, store or app. Each project has its own API keys, webhook endpoint, settings and slice of the ledger.
- Provider: the payment network money moves through. Today that is MTN MoMo, with a collection account for money in and a disbursement account for money out.
- Transaction: one ledger row. Every collection, payout and refund is a transaction with a status that moves from
pendingtosuccessfulorfailed. See The ledger.
